People usually don't think of using it, but I use Lexol (cleanser first and conditioner second) on all my non-polished, non-suede leather shoes. Most of these consist of driving shoes, calf leather, etc. Works like a charm.

I'm sure Meltonian cream would work too, but it doesn't clean the leather.

Bumping this back from the dead, should conditioner be applied onto pebble grain when the shoes are brand new (before they're first ever worn) or do you wear them first and then apply? How many coats per time? Does the conditioner/polish color matter if the shoe is not white? Or same conditioner, regardless of shoe colour?

I'm assuming apply first, then wear. With loafers like this, I'm assuming the conditioner doesn't really do much though? as the toe area will get worn down anyways?

Happy Canada Day.

It would be a good idea to use a non-silicone waterproof.
Even though you don't plan to wear them in the rain, treating them will give you a little protection against an accidental spilage.
Also try to avoid wearing them with jeans. The denim will stain the leather.
