How much sleeve should be visible when wearing a jacket?

When I put my hands on top of each other in front of me there is very small part of thr cuff which shows. Although when I put my hands straight at my side there is no cuff.

Do I need to have the sleeves slightly shortened on the jacket? The jacket breaks exactly at my wrist.

Or is it okay to not have any cuff showing when arms are straight at the side?

I like to have a little shirt sleeve showing with my arms down at my side. Maybe 1/8-1/4”. The question though is whether your jacket sleeves need to be shortened or your shirt sleeves lengthened.

I like my shirt sleeves to rest right at where my wrist breaks with the shirt cuff buttoned and my jacket sleeve slightly shorter than that.

I like to have a little sleeve showing, but I’d recommend no more than 1/4”. I see some guys showing more but in my opinion if you have over half an inch of sleeve showing it can look too short even to the untrained eye.

Thanks both. If my jacket is breaking at my wrist and the shirt sleeve is also is not show with my hands at the side is this considered a "bad" look? Or is it more personal preference?

It's not a bad look if the jacket length is right. It's when the jacket sleeve is too long that it looks off/bad.

It's not necessarily a 'bad' look but IMO it looks better to have a little shirt sleeve showing. I think it is much better to have fewer items of clothing that fit you very well (which usually means some alterations for tailored clothing) instead of many items that fit you "OK".
