$40 AUD (bout $60 US), pretty standard price for a decent hairdresser around here, I found out about the place trying to pick a girl up that worked there, I'm still testing the waters with hairdressers but she does a pretty good job, best I've come across so far.

I go to a long time friend who used to work in a few barber shops but now cuts on weekends in his house. I used to always give him $20 at the shop, cut was probably 10-11 with a 9-10 dollar tip, now I just give him $20.

Based on this poll, I'm very surprised. Most you you are cheap!! You guys spend a lot on dough on clothes but skimp on your haircuts. It doesn't make sense. A good haircut and a good pair of shoes is what people specially women look at first before your clothing.

I used to do something similar - - for years, I went to a somewhat fancy salon where, for $40, I got a haircut that I never, ever liked until it had grown-out for a couple weeks. Then, I started getting my hair cut at the barber where I take my young sons -- I'll never go back to the salon now. The barber's cut is so much better, so much more natural. Cheaper too - -@$18 with tip.

$38.75 after discount (a nearby salon gives 15% off hair services to employees of nearby businesses), then add about $10 for tip.
