Anyone have information on Canelli? There is a name followed by "68" inked in the pocket liner, which I'm thinking is the client and year, but who knows. It's fully canvased, and the fabric is rather hefty. This is a case of knowing the maker, but not being able to find out much about them. I can only find an article about a Citibank money guy not wearing his Canelli because he doesn't want to put off his clients. I've seen one or two before, but this is the first I've bothered to snag.

Can anyone ID this label/maker? I saw it today on a SC w/ Loro Piana cloth, but no other labels. I've seen it previously on Nordstrom house brand stuff, as well as on Arnold Brand "Made in Canda" pieces.

As far as I know the vest was first documented as part of the University of Michigan costume collection in early summer of 2002. So I could tell you where it has been for the last 10 years. The 76 years before that, I have no idea. I would venture a guess that it was well kept in a clean cool closet or dresser, as it is in fantastic condition and we use it on stage, most recently in the musical Chicago.
Here is a picture of the vest on a dress form. I suspect the buttons may have been replaced as some point. They just don't make wool like they used to. This is one that makes you understand what kind of art tailoring can be.

pretty positive this is Nervesa, who has made much of the older Cifonelli pieces in the past
according to A Harris, around Zegna/Caruso level of construction. I had one Cifonelli piece that would attest to that
Labels can be seen in this ebay listing
Also, I'm pretty sure that Kosher only refers to food and that fabrics are non-shatnez
