Okay, so my sister is getting married in Miami, FL, the first week of March. I need help finding a suit for my dad.
Basically, the wedding is at a country club, on the 18th green, in the afternoon. The reception is in the clubhouse, so it's a relatively relaxed atmosphere, obviously warm-weather. All the groomsmen (myself included) will be wearing the same suit (as far as I know, it's like a tan coloured, light-weight fabric... either cotton or wool-linen mix, and like a paisley tie -- I think blue/green/orange).
My dad is going to buy a new suit, and I want to help him get the best bang for the buck. The ballpark is $500 to $700, but I'd like to help him find something worth $1500 to $2k retail if possible. He doesn't wear suits often for work (psychiatrist), so doesn't have too many. He has a few Hickey-Freeman, Gieves & Hawkes, and Huntsman & Sons suits. None are new, though the cuts on them are still fairly current (slim in upper and lower body, 2 button, relatively narrow lapels). Also, we live in the midwest, so this should be something he can wear during a warm summer for the next 5 years after the wedding (therefore nothing too hot or thick, or too trendy -- something that will stay stylish).
I'm pretty up-to-date with what's going on in fashion, but as I'm in grad school, I don't need to wear suits yet (I only own one Hickey-Freeman and a G&H), and haven't ever bought one for myself... therefore, I turn to StyleForum for assistance!
I suppose I'd prefer recommendations on style/fabric/colour/cut, or brands as well. I know most of the places to look (Yoox, Gilt depending on the designer), but haven't found anything yet.
Any input would be greatly appreciated! Oh, and he's a 42L... 6'2" tall, about 180 lbs, long arms, pretty lean, in very good shape for mid-50s.
