Hi There.

Am I supposed to have this thread holding the lapel and the collar together? The tailor said I am not supposed to cut it? Thanks!

Just clarifying. It is sewn where the red arrows point to so that the lapel always stays in place. Should I cut the thread?

I agree, I have never seen it before. It is a Burberry London otr.

The tailor insisted that it was supposed to be like that, but I was suspicious, so I figured I would ask you guys. She said it was supposed to keep the lapel in place.

Hmmm never heard of that...first thought would be suspicious too, but if it doesn't hurt the jacket, I suppose it's okay...personally I'd leave it be.

I can't say whether or not you should cut it, but I've found the stitched lapel on a few E. Zegna jackets as well. Uncut of course.
