Depends. If you really need it sealed then you need a A rated contractor to apply it.

If, on the other hand, you need a good polish then I would recommend the new formula of Hope's Countertop Polish. I puts on a polymer sealant that is really effective in my experience.

The contractor that put granite counter tops and travertine tile in my bathroom used a product called Sparks Stone Glamour on the tile and the travertine: http://www.sparkssw.com/catalog/stone-glamor-c-68.html Looked great.

I just re-sealed my granite tops this week using a contractor grade product called 511 Impregnator. Def did the trick as water now completely beads.

I used something from Lowes. It was the same stuff that seals our tile floor.

My builder said we did not need it. I believe he is right--No financial gain for him to lie.
