Going to make my first purchase of premium jeans, advice please?

Get something decently midde-of-the-road such as Paper Denim or a more conservative Diesel cut/wash.

They'll open the gates to nicer denim for you. The washes can be good, fit is pretty good for many body types, price isn't too bad, easy to find on sale for $50-90, and decent denim and construction quality.

You can learn what aspects you like of better denim from these jeans, and for your next pair you'll be a bit more knowledgable.

Not arguing with you, just that I like that site but wish there was more to it then a few new pics every day or so.

I meant that it will help him develop his personal style as a whole, not just denim.
