Gieves & Hawkes Shirts - Question

Hey

I've recently started wearing G&H shirts, the fit is fantastic and (so far) the quality appears to be decent. At £125/shirt they seem pretty good, but I dont have a huge knowledge on smart dress shirts and 'executive-esque' casual shirts, thus my question: In the same price area, would anyone recommend other outlets?

Unrelated, I had a terrible experience with the G&H tailors and would be interested to hear if anyone had similar experiences.

Deffinately, you can go bespoke at either Jermyn St.

Jermyn St does shirts, SR does suits. G&H IMO are overstepping the traditional boundaries BUT very happy to hear they fit well (very important).

Importantly, Acorn fabrics are a must then you'll have English cotton via a London shirtmaker.
Mason is very good cotton (was English but now Italian). Acorn is regarded as the best on SF.

Bespoke: I routinely return for the perfect fit.

I have over a dozen G&H shirts. They are good shirts but not at £125 each. They used to have shirts on sale for '3 for 2' when their shirts were £75-95 depending on cloth or 3 for £150.

They used to have more variety in terms of style: sinle button cuff, two button cuff, sone casual shirts had buttonsin different positions, differrent collars, most shirts had subgle neck button but some had two.

The current sale 2 for £150 is nit that great. Go ti Bicester Village £50 each &; most are conservative.

You could cosider Stephan Shirts in Fulham; however their stitching is inconsistent. I got a mtm shirt made but the stitching on one of the sides was very bad & their MOP buttons are wafer thin.

I do like Turnbull & Asser shirts but when you consider their price you should really consider mtm or bespoke

I was told by G&H customer service the shirts considerably reduced to the sale price were made in Turkey, and sleeve shortening costs £20. Emma Willis, N&£, Pink charge £15. Ede & Ravenscroft ecommerce refused to shorten sleeves of RTW shirts unless wearer be measured in shop! Seems to be a act of revenge from a saleman in shop who dislikes contradiction by customer to his authoritarian demeanor.
