Actually, considering the period of inactivity she's had since The Fame Monster, I was thinking she'd have something HYOOGE up her sleeve. Then again, top 40 music doesn't necessarily send me into anaphylactic shock like some people.

I think if it had a different beat and maybe a different hook it would've been better.

I like Gaga a lot, some of her music is pretty compelling and certainly her persona is great and a huge part of why she is the number one pop star right now. Sadly, I had a feeling this was coming. She's gotten real caught up in this "feel good love yourself" message and given the quiet after how huge her last album was, it seemed tough to believe (to me at least) that something superior was in the works. Oh well. Hopefully the album will have one or two songs close to the Fame Monster, though I don't think she'll surpass Bad Romance anytime soon, if ever. That song is a masterpiece.

Just make sure you're not some place like a biker bar when you do start humming it. The song is basically a kiss to the gay fanbase that sustained her before she became a pop star, and still supports her today.

It's not a musical trainwreck or anything, just overly derivative of "Express Yourself", and really really really gay. It's a bit retrograde, actually, now that pop music is borrowing all these grimy dubstep-influenced sounds, "Born This Way" just sounds kind of, well, poofty.

They played it at my gym tonight. It wasn't quite as surreal as doing bench presses to "Pretty Girl Rock".

Don't hate on the Gaga. This song may suck, but she's had a phenomenal run.

However, the other day I did put her six big songs (Alejandro, Bad Romance, Just Dance, Paparazzi, Poker Face, Telephone) on a loop and they all sounded the same after a while.
