Can anyone recommend one of the various fundraising sites that populate the internet?

For you to make a donation, or to raise funds for a nonprofit?

If the latter, what type of fundraising are you hoping to do? Crowdsourced? Basic online giving? "Team in Training"?

The latter - I've been working on a book in my downtime for the last few years but unfortunately the rights to the images is more expensive than I thought it would be. I was wondering if there was a way I might raise funds to offset the cost. It's not exactly a not for profit, but I recall donating to a similar cause for a start up men's magazine that was looking to generate funds.

If you are certain that you would make the money back from the books once you have the images, your best bet is probably a loan.

I'm not certain that I'd make the money back - hopeful, but not certain. In any event, I'm getting fairly close to wrapping things up, so will probably just go ahead and cover the upfront costs myself.

Many thanks to those who responded to my initial query.
