A trench coat is a belted double breasted military-derived raincoat with shoulder straps, wrist straps and a storm flap. What you have there is a raincoat.
Sorry but this liberal use of ‘trench’ to describe just about any coat that’s made for some utility in the rain gets on me nerves!

As a casual observer, your nerves do seem to be more easily gotten on than others. If you feel so strongly about the word trench, your political debates must border on violence. Cheers.
