Hi guys. I've decided I want some new bedding. My old set has been with me for quite a while, so I'm looking to upgrade to some of Frette's more luxurious offerings.

What I had before was nice, but I know a higher thread count will please me even more.

Do you guys know if the Frette sets off of Bluefly are up to snuff? Are they being sold for that price because they are somehow blemished or something?

Can anyone recommend tips for buying sheets? How many sets is best to get, in the interest of maintaining them for at least 5 years?

For sheets I would look at Sferra of Ebay . Whamsutta and other US brands from BB&Beyond.
Overstock for sheets: they have very good sheets with 200+ feedbacks on each popular set.

As far as Simmons is concerned I have Simmons mattress and I am satisfied with it . However I would recommend trying it in a store first. I was very surprised how firm their PLUSH mattresses are. I am only 160lbs but always preferred FIRM mattress. In a case with Simmons mattress I went for plush to my surprise.
I recommend their Simmons World Class Line, which is one step up from their regular Simmons Beautirest.

Ron , is it worth to invest in 2" wool mattress pad for purpose of better heat exchange/ventilation? Would it keep me cool at night or would I be tossing and turning?

I don't think someone shopping for Ferette is going to be popping into their local BB&B and peruse the Whamsutta rack...

Just went in to Frette in Boston (near the Lenox). I was really impressed with the merchandise and I appreciate the Forums recommendation (thanks Vox and Matt). My GF has been decorating her condo and bought an Alpaca houndstooth throw and I got some PJs.

The service, packaging and product were all very impressive.
