Formalwear Question - Waistcoat

I own a solid black, one button peak lapel tuxedo and am considering getting a waistcoat, as I detest cummerbunds. I can't get an exact fabric match to the tuxedo, and don't care to commission a new bespoke 3-piece tuxedo to accomplish this (though I understand that is likely the most proper option).

Are there ANY acceptable color/fabric combination that are acceptable? Perhaps a black textured/patterned silk like the below?

Something as in that picture would be in good taste. Just make sure it's black, low cut, and sits low enough for there to be no shirt showing between vest and trousers. No belt of course, braces will make sure the trousers stay positioned properly (but you knew all that already). Enjoy the party.

If you get a backless vest, be sure never to remove your jacket in public. Otherwise, get a full one.

That is a good point - any idea where in the world I could locate a full back, low-cut black waistcoat?

No, new with tags. Company called Wilvorst. Classic U-shaped, double breasted.Formal wear is quite easy to find here in Germany.

You should not remove your jacket at a black tie event anyway.
