Well the whole point of the lock/unlock feature is to keep from accidentally dialing while the phone is in your pocket. Having an unlock button on the side completely defeats that purpose. But that aside, I think it's a great phone and definitely a move up from my Blackberry 8700 with no data plan that I've had the last two years.

I just aquired the enV 3 about three weeks ago and really like it. I am still not sold on the touch screen. Typing and durability are my main concerns.

I like the touch screen, but of course resort to the keypad for long texts. I did put a protector on the external screen though to protect it.
