Funny, but could have been a lot better. Script felt like it was trying too hard at times

It's US release was in 2010. IFC didn't pick it up until after it's first festival date.

I missed a large number of last year's films, but I enjoyed:

The Social Network
Winter's Bone (seen twice under the effects of sleep deprivation)
Iron Man 2 (flaws aside)
Inception

Further down the quality scale, I liked Chloe (from a purely male perspective) and Tron: Legacy (for visual vim and a touch of whimsy amidst its ponderous scenes)

If I had to hand out a top 5:

Black Swan (probably my fav. this year - Portman better win Best Actress)
True Grit
The Social Network
Winter's Bone
Inception

I was fairly underwhelmed this year, with the exception of Black Swan.

I've not seen 127 Hours or King's Speech, though.

That's quite brilliant. It's one of the best of '09.

I saw the whole thing in one sitting at an NYC theater in early November. I lost count of how many cigarettes the characters lit up. PS - I got lost within the first 5 minutes of watching Inception.

i think that was 09, but ya, I saw it in 10, and count it among the best things I saw during the year. The sequels sucked though.

Sounds like I have to see The Kings Speech.
