Experiences with The Shave in Beverly Hills, CA?

My girl gave me a gift certificate to The Shave in Beverly Hills, CA. It's supposed to be a salon/barber shop catering to men. I've read that they offer old school barber services as well as free booze. I wasn't aware of the place and don't know anyone that has been. All I know is what I've read on their website.

Anyone have any experience with this place? Any annoying upscale attitude there?

It's on the same block of Beverly (and same side of the street) as Peet's, Chin Chin, Chipotle, and Freida, if that helps at all. I walk past it with some frequency and am not certain that I've ever seen anyone actually getting a shave there. It also struck me as being more a boutique for shaving products than an actual salon/barber shop (although I was aware that they do offer shaves). I tend to be there early in the morning or at the very end of the day, so maybe it's busier during the heart of the day. I went in once so see if they carried Proraso products (they don't). They seem to have a pretty wide selection of other shaving soaps, lotions, aftershaves, etc.
