It's lined with Ostrich. Hermes doesn't usually mess about with the good stuff although recently I have been seeing Alligator wallets with calfskin interiors...and some embossed leather wallets with silk interiors.

Thats very pretty indeed..

Thread necro. Having a tidy up and just thought I would post a few photos of some wallets and accessories I came across:

Vintage wallet, probably 20s or 30s

I have a pigsin wallet with a very similar interior to this. Id dated it as 40s - 50s but maybe its earlier than I thought. Interesting!

Hermes wallet quality is insane. The leather, saddlestiching on all stiches, skivving to make the wallet as thin as possible, and finishing is soo nice. Probably one of the best quality wallets in the world...but admittedly still overpriced.

Here's mine. mc2 Copernic in matte alligator in blue marine...reminds me of xenomorph skin.

The new is a Hackett alligator wallet that has me impressed with the quality of the skin, the use of alligator for the interior, and the overall construction quality (machine sewn, but leather lining to the note section and all very neatly put together).

The old is a crocodile grooming kit from Garrard which contains a nail file and small comb, both set in sterling silver.

The Hackett wallet looks surpassingly good. Are the card slots silk lined or full alligator? Nicely chosen and cut skin

The card slots and coin purse are silk lined, and the billfold section is leather lined. Like you say, I'm impressed by the intelligent choices on which corners to cut when making it to a price.
