I think the hem measurement's a little deceiving because you don't know where the taper starts. The fatigues really aren't that slim, even though the ankle is a little narrow – seems like they don't taper at all until the knee.

Unfortunately my problem tends to reside it the waist measurements. I wish I had the self-discipline to make a TTS 36 work for me, but I really need that extra inch or inch and a half!

Ditto :) and if some of them are less than TTS I'm definitely stuck.

@lgeicher @ManofKent

The fatigues go up to 38!

I feel like some kind of evangelist. I'll stop.

That's a fair point. I'll most likely order a pair as I've been planning to do anyway, knowing I can return them if they don't work out.

And, don't apologize for evangeliIng. Been buying EG since 2008 and I feel like I do it, too.

No need to stop :) So do cinches and E-1's (the XL)...but only 2-3 shops ever stock them and when they do, they have a single pair. Haven't found any E-1's in XL from this season anywhere yet. TBB can always be counted on for bringing in the larger sizes but the pants go fast. The only others I know of are MAC and Jackstraw (might be worth calling MoK).
Your insight and help is always appreciated.

Hi all. First time venturing into EGarments....if I wear a 39-40S (39 chest,17.5 shoulders) sportcoat, any sizing reco on the Bedford ripstop jacket? It looks like M would be ideal, but again I don't have any experience with EG sizing. TIA.

@Thanks SF (a new me) – Depends on a little on your height, but I'm the same size, 6' and wear a M. A few other guys in the thread have told me they're also about the same size and wear a L.

If you live in Chicago, you should stop by Independence (http://independencechicago.com/) and try them on.

Thank You...being 5-6, I think the jacket is cut short (28-29 in) so it would be ideal for vertically challenged guys like me. Now I have to decide the between the Navy (heavier Twill cloth) or the Olive (lighter ripstop) . Dang, wish I can have both. Yep, Independence already has both on hold for me until EOD. :decisions: I think finally this is the jacket I;ve been looking for...Can't let go this time

I like the fabric on this popover shirt but my experience with the fit of the popover has not been good: too billowy at the hem.

Agreed on the helpfulness of insights :)

I've never seen the cinches in a 38, but that might be rarity.

I'm okay for fatigues, and have a pair of E1's from last season. It's the balloon pants I was looking forward to and I've only seen them in S or M.

I guess some of the blame for the dearth of large trouser sizes probably comes down to stockists.

It does seem odd that XL in upperware is easy to find yet bottomwear isn't - surely most people are pretty much in proportion?

I suspect the XS wearers have similar issues...

Feel like I've looked pretty extensively but if anyone sees the grey tropical wool Cinch Pants in a 34 or 36, please let me know.

I hate when I miss TBB's new stock, some of their exclusives sell out in less than a day... Really wanted that olive ripstop Dayton. :brick:
