I bought a Barneys white french cuff cotton shirt in my size that is way huge on me.

I wear a 16 neck and it must be a 17+. Should I wash it in hot water and dry it on hot prior to taking it to the laundry??

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am no expert but there is no way a 17+ can shrink to a 16. I would sell it.

measure it. if it's a size 16 the neck shouldn't measure more than 16 3/4" at most. (measure from the center of the button to the end of the button hole.)

you could also take it back, no?

Hadn't considered that but I certainly could.

Might be mislabeled. Collar would shrink half an inch at most.

It measures between 16 and 3/4 and 16 and 7/8ths.

I will try and wash it in hot water and than get it laundered. Maybe Barney's makes there shirts to shrink this much and knows it. If it doesn't I will take it back next time I go to LA. (I bought it at Barney's outlet in Cabazon).

Bought a great 16/41 the same day from the Zegna outlet and it is perfect. Live and learn. Which is precisely why I bought only one from each. You never know with the outlets what is real goods and what it "special purchase."
