Ok, so I am lazy, I did a search on the term, but didnt find what I wanted.

Can any one provide some pics of good examples of drape on a coat?

I just bought a suit that has, what I think is drape, but want to confirm.

Also, I am looking to have a few suits made here in the next 3-6 months and may want to incorporate this into the construction.

Thanks!

Drape is just how the fabric falls/hangs on/off the body.

No. Drape is a very specific aesthetic favored by Anderson & Sheppard, among others.

Rubinacci does a modified drape that I find more flattering than A&S's.

The first poster was asking what drape was and searched the term and couldn't find what he wanted. How are we supposed to know he is looking for a CUT of a suit and not just what the term "drape" means...which is just how the fabric falls.

I first came across the word in the Manton silhouette post where he says "Overall, a silhouette may be lean or full; structured or soft; elongating or "widening"; smooth (or "clean") or draped (or "rumpled")...the "drape" (excess cloth over the chest and blades) hang more elegantly, but it's not essential: not all draped coats have extended shoulders." Then later I saw drape being used describing jackets and fits where I wasn't able to see any excess, rumpled cloth, so I've been confused since. I guess the word is used in two ways, and it just depends on the context?
