Does this suit fit, or is it too large?

I posted this in the tailor's thread, but got no response. So I thought I'd post here, as I am on a keep-or-return deadline. Basically, does this suit fit, or is it too large?

Any advice most gratefully appreciated! I have yet to hem the pants to the correct length.

Press your palm against the side of your arm where the shoulder ends and the bicep begins. If you feel the shoulder padding of the jacket before you feel your arm, the jacket is too wide in the shoulders. I can't tell for certainty from the photos but I get the impression the jacket is too wide in the shoulders. Anyways the sleeves are too long and so are the pants.

Try a jacket with a natural i.e. unpadded shoulder. It will most likely fit your body type a lot better. As as skinny guy wearing strong shoulder padding makes your shoulders look like the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.

OK, thanks. Yeah, I have yet to hem the pants, and the sleeves need to be shortened.

I like the feel of this suit. Yeah, it's padded shoulders, and am I imagining or does the whole suit have an eighties feel to it, without the obvious pleats, baggy pants, extreme boxiness, etc. I went into the store with a t-shirt, and the sales guy took one look at me and said 42!! I said, "No, 40!". He said, "uh uh, 42! Your shoulders!".
Both 40 and 42 fit, but 42 was much more comfortable (loose?).

I am not that skinny, 5'11 1/2 ", 170 lb. (and bald at 31).

It looks okay, maybe a tad large. It's hard to tell if it's boxy since the lighting is dark.

Yea, really dark if you could get better pictures I think you would get a better response

Just a few well lit pictures would do.
