Do you iron a crease in your shirt sleeves?

I put a crease in my sleeves (but not the cuffs). At least it's not like I'm still in the Marines and putting creases down the front and back of the shirt as well anymore...

When they were talking about creasing cuffs, they meant french cuffs. Obviously barrel cuffs shouldn't be creased.

I crease my sleeves, just becasue that's how I've always done it.

Oh, I'm quite sure there are some places which would crease barrel cuffs. And french cuffs, imo, shouldn't be creased either (until you put them on, of course), though that's less obvious.

Crease sleeve, no crease on cuff, no crease on fold of french cuffs.

In a related theme, do you crease pants up to the belt, or end it up near the pocket area?

Just checked my Roetzel and he does indeed advocate ironing the cuffs, especially for French cuffs he says to iron the turn back fold then iron the folded cuff with the button holes on top of each other.

I suppose with french cuffs it's reasonable to prefer a crisp fold to a slightly gentler roll, it's just personal preference. Ironed barrel-cuffs are just an abberation though.

Sleeves yes, cuffs no. I flatten the cuffs from the inside, then button the sleeve gauntlet button and iron both sides of the sleeve, creating a crease.

My shirts that have worn out, as opposed to having been damaged, have always worn in two places: the collar and the sleeve crease. I haven't figured out how to stop them from wearing at the collar, but since I've stopped creasing the sleeve the way my momma taught me, I've not had one split.

I always crease the sleeve, but not the cuff. It is easier than trying to not crease them.

Never, dislike sleeve creases and always use a sleeve board.

And I strongly dislike those tiny creases at the ends of collars due to ironing towards the points. Hate them.

How do you avoid it at all? I iron my shirts on a regular ironing board without a sleeve board. When I do the sleeves, I lay them flat and arrange them so that the seam forms a point from which the sleeve if bifurcated. When ironing, the point opposite the seam develops a sharp crease.

I like the look, but I was also under the impression that it would be difficult to iron them in any way that would allow you to avoid the crease.
