I feel like the jcrew laceup is a bit chunky looking but maybe its just the picture...

Anyone have any other suggestions for shoes I might be able to purchase in store? I dont want anything too shiny as I'd wear these with jeans and my work environment is business casual...something versatile in some sort of medium brown tone would be best I think..

I appreciate the help.

Go shopping, young man! Where do you live? If you want to try on and buy in person, you are limited by your environment. List the men's stores near you and some people here may be able to tell you what to keep an eye out for.

yea well I have one of those love/hate relationships with shopping for shoes that's why I came here for some suggestions. Wasn't sure if there was any good stores in Chicago to visit.

I'm a sucker for suede chukkas, so here are my recommendations

http://www.pediwear.co.uk/grenson/products/2795.php
http://www.pediwear.co.uk/grenson/products/1982.php

Or, if you want to go big time, like these
http://www.pediwear.co.uk/crockett/products/562.php
http://www.pediwear.co.uk/crockett/products/251.php
http://www.pediwear.co.uk/crockett/products/2290.php

You can search on ebay and maybe get'em for less. PM if you want some ebay stores links.

For brands:
Grenson
Alfred Sargent
Crockett & Jones
