Davanzati Shoes

I picked up a pair of these leather boots from goodwill a few months ago and just recently got them resoled. I searched on the internet for the brand and couldnt find much info. I tried to search the internet and style forum to get some more info but to no avail. They are leather and they were resoled once before(this is the 2nd time). Does anyone know anything about this company? I will post pics soon.

I worked for Davanzati, a small, very high-end manufacturer and importer of (mostly) men's shoes and accessories from Naples. Davanzati was known for its exotic skin shoes and accessories, including alligator, crocodile, and ostrich. It was a small, family-owned business. The company was an offshoot of Lau Pelli, a tanner and distributor of leather components, notably linings, to the footwear industry. Davanzati's US office was located on West 57th Street in New York, the heart of the luxury goods industry. Its customers included Nordstrom, Bally, Saks, and other high-end chains and independent retailers. As far as I know, the company closed US operations when Mr. Laudiero, the owner, relocated back to Italy.

As far as I know, that's what happened to him. While I worked there in the late 90's, he was already talking about relocating his family to Italy so as to raise his kids there. I also think that he needed to manage his family's businesses there more directly.

I do apologize i made this post and quickly forgot to even check it. I know its been months but, these are the shoes. I've been wearing them pretty frequently since may. I've had them resoled once. They do have some wear on the leather but they're still holding up. I've been searching for another pair as such, to no avail. Ive tried clark desertboots, but they're too narrow for me. Once again i do apologize, I figure, i should post pics anyways.

I own an online vintage shop and I happen to have a pair of the Davanzati boots, handmade in Italy, gently worn once or twice by famous baseball hall of famer.

Jason - I am in Rome and my Davanzati shoes were stolen this week. I was looking to buy another pair as they were my favorite shoes, but I cannot find the brand anywhere. Any idea if the company is still in business and how I might find them if they are. I am heading to Naples on Saturday and I was hoping to buy another pair or two.

I originally bought them at Wilkes Bashford in San Francisco.
