sometimes with dack's the 5 can be a D or E width but yes...swing and 2 misses. At least your doing better than me. Recently sold 2 pairs of shoes on ebay, going to the US. Paid for shipping with a tracking number, buyer claims he never got it even though it shows being delivered. Ebay...always supports buyers. Lost the case and am out $220

Really sorry to hear that happen. Blacklist the buyer.

fyi the dack's oxhide are actually 10.5D, the first 4 numbers stamped "4105" correspond to 4th width on a 10.5 last. The other whole cuts are 9.5D, same story corresponding to "495", whoever listed them as 13' (maybe these were the ones on poshmark) had no idea what they were talking about

Confirmed my suspicions that the 13 was not the size afterall. Not from poshmark, but the seller clearly had no idea. If anyone wants them...

Do any of the members (Marius?) have any idea how to interpret the number codes on these old Police Boots? My theory is the "S-606" represents the model as I have noted "1606" on similar boots online, and the "FB168212" the manufacturer and serial (production) number.

Does the "Viscolized Outsole" suggest a specific time frame?

I am only guessing, but the 690 could very well mean they are 9F's. The more recent boots I have seen all have the oil resistant rubber soles, so the leather soles do suggest these boots have some age. I think your best bet in dating them might be the "Made in Canada" logo. I was on a site a few months back that showed the different variations of this logo through time. I bet you can trace it. Nice boots.

Thank you for your reply!

Yes, I'm confident the size is 9F (or 9EE). I have seen similarly marked "Police Boots" with cork soles too.

I'll try your logo-to-date suggestion...

Sorry to hear about the scammer. We/you should snoop his social media to catch him wearing them.

Here are a pair of faux alligator "Anniversary Dacks" loafers with original shoe bags. The shipping box had been ripped open and rewrapped in plastic by Canada Post with a pre-printed apology note letting me know the my "mail was important". Amazingly the shoes and shoe bags were 100% fine. Such a rich chestnut colour. Fully leather lined!

Shell or not shell? Here are a pair of deep mulberry Canadian made Florsheims that I picked up in Gatineau about a month back; near NOS. The original owner had worn them twice, to a wedding and a funeral. While I have been called a horse's ass many times, I cant tell if these are shell or not.
