D-ring belts

What do you think of leather D-ring belts? Here's an example:

To me, and this is IMHO only, it seems a bit incongruous to have a D-ring on a leather belt. I associate D-rings with casual or utilitarian belts like grosgrain or canvas, not leather which is usually more formal in appearance.

That said, the look doesn't bother me, just not something I would do.

I have them but am not so in love with them. The ring sticks out too much, as pictured above.

I like them alot - wearing one today, one from Robert Talbott. They are obviously more casual than regular belts, of course. I think they have a part in a wardrobe, especially in the summertime (colored ones) or leather ones worn year-round, such as those beauties by Paul Stuart.

I think they are great. I've been looking for one with really big rings for a while know, like a vintage belt I saw in a picture. No dice yet. D-ring belts are hard to find in general.

I am not sure that "D-ring" is the proper term for that kind of buckle. I am pretty sure there is another name for it, but it eludes my increasingly senescent mind at the moment.

To my mind, a D-ring is something sewn into a dog collar for attaching leash or sewn onto an old-fashioned Sam Browne belt for attaching one of those leather straps that go across the chest--again there must be a technical term for the latter, but I don't know it. A D-ring is actually shaped like the letter D.

These... are shaped like the letter D. I own one, it's navy and military surplus. $4.50. Those grosgrain or leather ones just don't seem worth it to me.
