I think the montpelier was suggested be cause It is in fact a stock option. And Im unsure If EG are willing do do exotics outside of the TopDrawer program. If MTO is an option and the OP does not need this for the "office Xmas" party ... I would suggest a visit to Leffot. JMW, EG, Church etc all in in one place.

Co-sign on Matt's point.
If you're dropping big $$$$ go for the build quality (Kiton, Bontoni).
Spending four figures on shoes with milk crate construction would be marsupialed.
Here's something with a build of $200 shoe retailing for $3800 courtesy of Mr. Lifshitz

The BB croc loafer is nice, but I prefer the one by RL mentioned in the post above.

i really like the second pair of paul stuarts. they remind me of the prl marlow/darlton, the end all of penny loafers in my eyes. the brooks brothers ones are quite appealing too, even tho i generally do not prefer low vamp shoes.

i wish i had a pair of croc loafers. how do they compared to calf in terms of durability? given their high price point i think i have always assumed they must be delicate.

Not feeling either one of these models

The bit loafer in croc seems in particular grandpa-ish. (It's what car dealership proprietors like to wear.)
BB's Italian-made shoos tend to have a fairly flimsy build, btw.

I've seen the croc BB loafers, and they're quite nice. I prefer thicker soles than what they have, so I bought the double-soled gator wingtips. I'm very pleased with mine, and given they're by the same maker, I think you'd be happy with the loafers.
