Creasing at toe on right shoe - why?

Occasionally I will get pairs of shoes that break in with a weird crease by my right big toe. I just got a pair of Varvatos sneaker boots that appear to have the same crease starting. It's always just about an inch or so. I have other shoes like To Boot New York boots that don't do this (maybe because they're better quality?). I'm 99% sure the shoes aren't too big. The strangest thing to me is that it always happens on my right foot, which is slightly bigger than my left - seems like it would happen on the side that has a little extra toe room.

Anyone have advice on how to keep this from happening? Or do I just walk funny :)
