i,

I just bought a really great sectional from a new store called
modern sensibility. The price was great only $849. I love it!and the sale
people were very friendly and helpful too.
6 seperate pieces that I can arrange in my living room however I want to.
so even when I'm tierd of the same old boring sectional I can switch it up.

they also have a website if you wanted to take a look
www.modernsensibility.com

the sofa I bought was called the Waterloo they have other
great sofa bed options though.

This place is also good Decorium especially their odds and ends section
.

Decorium has some nice stuff, but they are now on 1st Dibs and their stock is fairly upscale (although their in-store prices are lower than the 1st Dibs prices).

They specialize in mid century used stuff for good prices!
This is an excellent source...very good prices, and some interesting stuff (they supply lots of other dealers). But you need to look often and act fast...they don't keep merchandise long.

In fact, I'd do the whole Leslieville stretch...quite a few vintage dealers out there. I recently purchased a 70's vintage Roche Bobois 3-seater sofa...made in France, all metal frame with original wool tweed upholstery in perfect condition w/stainless steel accents...stupidly high quality... $350

Another good place is Queen west at Roncy (west Parkdale). Several stores, but check out Queen West Antiques. They sell their high end stuff at their Filter store, but great buys on quality vintage stuff can be found in the huge Queen West store...I've seen vintage Milo Baughman, Knoll, Herman Miller, Neinkemper and various Danish teak sofas...generally in the $800 - $1200 range...some things can be had much cheaper.

Of course the great place to go is the sunday market down in St Lawrence. But you have to go early (like 6:00 AM), as all the dealers will have picked that place dry if you go at like noon. I've bought countless things there, but just recently picked up a massive solid teak coffee table with hand made ceramic tile inserts...$130...DELIVERED!!

It just breaks my heart to see people buy that over-priced crud from the chain stores.

There's a store at Queen & Bathurst called Design Republic.

They have a lot of knockoff designer furniture stuff if you're looking for cheaper alternatives.
