@lordsuperb
I think you have done fine so far. Getting rid of that mirror and the plastic chairs is a big improvement.
I recall you posting that painting (I think that one) months ago and I stated then I thought it was too big for that location. I still do, but...your choice. It's far better than the mirror in any case.
Lighting:
The chandelier = very generic. It needs to be more interesting, and either smaller or larger. In the context of the other photos of the space, I think larger/lower would overwhelm the room, the space/table would suffer from that, the painting would be blocked, so I would look at something either thinner and more vertical/elegant like a Flos "Fucsia"; very minimal but present like a "Frisbi"; or softer like a "GloBall" or some of the Foscarini "Rituals". At most complex Artemide "Logico", but I think not in that context.
Frankly a simple $10.00 Japanese paper lantern from a million sources or a real "Akari" for more substance in that same genre would look good. Something along those lines: simple form, proper scale, and translucent (not opaque like your other choice: that gold "shardy" chandelier is really bad imo).
Paint:
I believe you were not a fan of this idea either, months ago, but honestly I think the single most impactful improvement you can make now is to paint those purple walls white, the same as the ceiling.
