Considering these Johnston & Murphy shoes, opinions please

I may be able to pickup some shoes with a decent discount and I'm considering the following for the office, possibly with jeans, and when going out so I don't have to worry about damage to some nice AEs, etc. Any opinions? I have never owned any Johnston & Murphy shoes and I really need to dump some *gasp* KCs I have and move on.

the boots you linked to seem to be the obvious choice, unless you mind their being boots. otherwise, I'd go for those.

I do like the boot, but I am also looking for a shoe. Perhaps I'll pickup the boot and save the money for another shoe (AEs, etc.). I appreciate the feedback. I felt the first was the better choice which is why I placed it first. Are you guys against panel toe shoes in general?
