Yes this is very wise of you, polyester is a horriable fabric for anything, especially dress pants. Even plends of cotton poly should be avoided. I suggest a nice wool or worsted wool. something with a high twist that is light and breathable.

You all ought to listen to me. I live in a sauna everyday. I've worn both 100% polyester pants and pure wool/cotton. What can I say about them?

- I don't believe you can identify decent polyester from the naked eye, unless by hand. Even so, there are modern polyesters with wool-like touch.
- No heat and breathability issues. I believe it's all down to the thickness of the cloth and weave.
- It stinks when you sweat and that is the only concern.
- Comfort is debatable. I've worn polyesters that feel as comfortable as cotton but also as terrible as burlap. I do believe there are different grades of polyester.
- 99% of the population here wore them. Including me.

don't kid yourself. ANY kind of polyester can be easily detected under strong, concentrated light. it will reveal a uniformity of weave and a sheen that is completely different from even what the finest wool would look like.

just because you can't tell the difference, don't assume others can't.

keep trying to justify yourself, but just be aware you won't be fooling anyone.

Fyi - here is a pair of pants from Borrelli that is about 70% polyester (I had thought about buying them before I noticed the material)

not sure if that definitively proves that there is high quality polyester out there, but I thought it was interesting as I was under the impression that Borrelli was more along the lines of "respected neopolitan tailor" than "fashion designer who will try to slip you some cheap material if you are not paying attention"

Good for winter though.

I must confess that I bought a pair several years back. Wore them twice, IIRC.

I have also seen those and can't figure out why Borrelli is making polyester pants.
