i have a nokia 3585i and according to the nokia website it is capable of sending and recieving text messages. however, mine does not do this and apparently it is because this feature was disabled on phones for the sprint pcs network which i use. i got this phone for free when i signed up so i understand that they do this to encourage you to upgrade.

i need a phone that can recieve text messages and i need it right away but i was hoping to avoid having to buy a new phone. can anyone steer me towards the information i need to unlock this feature on my phone? i looked on ebay but couldn't find anything.
