Great idea. Wish mine didn't already have holes drilled. Will make note of this when I buy a new car.

adding electric to gas station is the "wrong way" to go about it though

for the Us at least, a big chunk of the adopter can
1. charge at home
2. charge at work

plug in is really kind of random stop or long journey, so hotel, highway stop (but don't have to be in the same lane as gas), even mall, or anywhere people naturally will make a "stop"

Out of the 9 men that have complemented my car since ive had her. 2 out of the 9 thought that she was a diesel. #2 was yesterday.

Hopefully sending her to the doctor to get alignment tomorrow. My fathers racked up with work this week.

I’ve looked at Tesla. You know what stops me? There are only 7 superchargers in my state. Not very convenient. But everyone champions the network they have setup. Its been 8 years since they started the network.

I believe the intent of the Supercharger is not to be a regular gas station replacement. Instead it's for longer trips, so they're placed along popular corridors that people take, and then stop for a while to recharge during a food break for example since charging takes a while. For regular around-town trips, you'd just charge at home: they expect people to plug their cars in every day when they get home so the car's always ready to go.

One of the things people with EVs are surprised to find is how great it is not to have to visit a gas station ever again.

i actually never thought of that before. The Tesla superchargers i mapped out in upstate NY when we looked a while back were all at random hotels off of highways.

yup, exactly, though this really only works well for the US I would say (the burbs/house/garage). I can't see how it works say in Taiwan or even Europe, unless wireless charge pad is on every parking spot I suppose...

my garage (10 minutes walking from me) only start to install charging this year, and it's not every slot either, it's not even every 30 slots by the look of it (it's fairly big parking lot)

I have a lot friends who have done road trip with Tesla (NYC to Canada, back, NYC to SC back etc.). I personally probably feels roughly like what you feel though. For day to day if I can get charge at home then never have to worry, but once on the road I would still prefer gas for now...
