Just saw a Ferrari 430 Spider zoom past me on some boondock back road. On that same road in the middle of nowhere was a flatbed towing a stranded Tesla lol.

In California for a long weekend.

Got offered a V8 mustang convertible for an extra $10/day.

The 10sp transmission is a little weird, but the 460hp is nice

Geez, that's one more gear than the Douchmobile's. I have to say the next gen transmission really helps smooth power delivery for me.

I believe the 10 speed learns your driving habits ans adapts the shifts over time to become more efficient and to predict your driving habits. That doesn't translate well to a rental unfortunately. It takes a few thousand miles of one driver to adapt.

I had a fully loaded 2018 Mustang ordered when they ran out of magneride suspensions, so I cancelled it and bought my car instead. The exhaust toggle and drive modes were pretty good. The stock exhaust in track mode sounded great.

Don't most modern cars have a ****** that learns your driving habits? Also, I think there's a pretty simple reset so you can at least get back to factory default for the weekend.

How regularly do you all do oil and filter changes? I'm gonna take my car in now that I've hit 1,000 miles. Some folks recommend doing it every 2-3,000 miles thereafter. Obviously, the factory is not so stringent with their service guidelines.

For the GT cars - first oil change after 1200 miles, after that, once a year given that i drive less than 5,000 miles a year.

If i drove more than 10k miles, i’d change the oil every 10k. If i did regular track days, i would turn the car over to the care of one of the half-dozen Porsche motorsport teams/garages around here and change it after every xx event as they recommend.

The folks who street drive and change oil every 3k - if they ever asked me for my opinion i’d tell them to at least send out for a Blackstone analysis to see if their usage actually does demand frequent oil changes. Just to see if they’re wasting money or not.

But it will never hurt - at worst they’re just throwing away money. Those guys who change the oil every 3k are the guys i will want to stalk until they sell their cars, and try to buy them when they do.

Thanks--this accords with my thinking. Doesn't hurt. Happy to spend the incremental money to keep my car tip-top.

Well if you are only doing 2000 miles a year based on your current usage that will be less than once a year, so not very incremental.

The 718 GT4 looks good value in the UK compared to the base models
