hi all,
In the summer sale at Herring is a pair of Carlos Santos, a tan grain oxford with plain vamp on the 417 last on a Dainite sole.

I have never come across this last before, and wanted to probe the community'd collective knowledge on this 417 last.
For comparison, I have a pair on the 316 last (in 8.5, could do with 8), on the 234 (also on 8.5, maybe 8 would also do), and on the 187 (in 8.5).

It is a model made for Herring by CS. It looks a bit like the 316 last.

I see makes sense then. I would go with my regular CS size but would probably contact Herring first and ask.

In line with the price I’d say so far (have had 2 for about 6 months). The belt feels a bit thin though so might also depend on preference.

Compared to other brands: around trafalgar level. A little bit behind Carmina belts and I personally favor Magnanni over both of these

My first pair of CS shoes... the cap toe derby in Algarve.

Super comfortable with a gorgeous patina right out of the box. Bonus polish and shoe trees courtesy of @Afinepairofshoes

Here's a few shots from my Handgrades and a comparison with the Guimaraes version. Both on the 389 soft square last. The finish is unreal considering the price.
It is from my IG so I cropped the shop name from the top for obvious reasons.

I may have bought them in 2 colors... lol. I needed some rubber soled derbies for city walking and wet road days.

I actually like them so much I may get the cap toe oxfords as well in 2 colors to round out my oxford collection. Great value I think for the price.
