Im going to be going to Spain in November and needed a packable travel jacket that would be warm yet fashionable during the day and night. I bought this cockpit field jacket, thinking it would fit the bill.

First, its thinner than I expected... Its a wool outer and with just a poly liner inside. Dont know if this will be warm enough in 40 degrees and possibly rain. Toughts?

Second, I loved it in the pictures. Of course, that was in the pictures... when it came in it was boxy as hell. Shoulder is good enough and sleeve length is perfect, so I cant size down to a Large, but can the waist be supressed or something to make it more like the model pic? Im including pics of the back seams for reference.

My tailor closes in a few hours and I need some quick input. SHould I try and save it or find something else - suggestions welcome.

(Pre-apology for the weird angles, fuzzy lens, unnatural poses and crap on mirror, etc...)

I don't know about trying for much waist suppression on this kind of jacket, the position of the pockets might make it tough. You could ask the tailor though.

If the wool is thick, and you will have sweaters/etc. to layer with it, a single layer wool jacket might be enough for 40 degree weather. Where are you going and what will you be doing?
