The pattern matching sucks. Look at the right quarters and the horizontal run of the plaid.

IMHO, yes, as grey is not a color, so it is very versatile. If you wear white with brown, you can treat grey as a "less-white" and wear it accordingly - see the italian examples!

I don't see why not. Grey and brown are mixed as commonly as dead leaves on the forest floor.
