I have heard that it is more economical to buy 2 pair of shoes at the same time. The logic being that two pair purchased at the same time will last longer than 2 pair purchased sequentially. Is this an urban legend? Are there any studies done on this? What is your opinion?

Shoes last longer when worn in rotation (i.e., a minimum one day on and one day off) and kept on shoe trees. If you wear the same pair every day, the shoes never have time to dry out completely. They start to smell and wear out faster.

My opinion is that you are spamming with that link in your post.

Link is pretty spam-y compared to actual post. And to answer your original question, as long as you already have multiple pairs of shoes that you rotate between frequently, then no it isn't really relevant to buy 2 pairs of shoes, nor is it cheaper per shoe unless there is a sale for multiple pairs of shoes. So no, as long as you already have a few pairs of shoes it's unnecessary. If this is your first pair of shoes ever... well then that's a different topic altogether.
