Last time I saw you, you had one on with a DB, I think. Is that right?

Very likely. And if it was a DB, it was probably gray flannel. I have been traveling a lot and found it easier to just stick with a tight rotation of suits, shirts and ties that go in and out of the suitcase. And since it is small town travel, I feel more comfortable in solid color suits, OCBDs and simple ties - so that's what is in the rotation. But by the time you showed up, I would have switched to a bowtie.

in general I only wear bd with sportcoats+no tie. I'll wear with a suit if I'm getting down to the last of the shirt rotation but I tend to not like the look.

Clearly you are an italics noob: "are" shouldn't be italicized, and italicizing "unbuttoned" is excessive.

As dwarf and midget living in the same neighborhood, I already knew we were close. Now, I feel positively brotherly! We should pitch a tent in Riverside Park, make s'mores, and tell ghost stories.

I would have said: "Pitch a tent? This place is getting pretty gay."

If you're going to italicize, you've got to punctuate correctly and pick the right word. Otherwise, the effect is confused--like Vox's last outfit.

P.S. to know where I want to italicize something, you need to know where i wanted to place the voice inflection. Your post assumes a lot.

You're right. I base my analyses on the assumption that the speaker does not want to sound like a computer voice emulator or Chandler Bing.
