Snagged this here, knowing it was a bit too big. Thought I'd have the waist taken in and wear it over a sweater, but it's just too big. As such, I'm offering it here again, without seeking to make a profit on it. If no one wants it, it'll hit the 'bay.

Shoulders: 18.5
Chest: 44
Waist: 40 (very nice waist suppression -- this is what steered me away from trying to have it altered)
Length from bottom of collar: 29.75

Silly me, it's 24.5, roughly. Sorry about that.

Is there any extra fabric in the sleeves where they could be lengthened about an inch, or does the button placement not allow it?

The buttonholes have faux stitching that can probably be removed with no trouble. And there seems to be sufficient cloth folded inside for the alteration. (Full disclosure: I'm not a tailor, I just play one on TV.)

Not necessarily. Notice that he's measured from the bottom of the collar and not the top.

For what it's worth, I also have many 40R marked coats that are about the same length as his Brioni.

If only it were a 40L. Sigh......

IIRC, 29.75" makes it only 1/4" short of a regular and could be measurement error (My 40L sportscoats run about 32" from the bottom of the collar and I believe the "long" designation adds 2").

I sold that to Doc originally and I can vouch for the fact that it's a true 40R and also for the fact that it's very nice.

Alan, the stuff Brioni does for Wilkes-Bashford is far nicer than the Brioni that usually ends up on eBay. Mwahahahahaha...
