That's should be pretty decent... I wouldn't recommend their travel press though because the plunger isnt sealed properly which allows coffee grinds to get into your coffee. Check out the Aerobie Aeropress as well... it makes a superb americano without the need to shell out a lot of money for an espresso machine

I have it, it works great and I've had absolutely no problems. Just make sure you use a coarse grind or you will get grounds in your cup.

I have one for my office, and the coffee has to be coarse-ground or you'll be drinking sandy-coffee, although you can filter it out (which kind of defeats the purpose).

I use a moka pot and a simple filter dripper at home with pretty good results. The moka is kind of a pain to clean.

Also been considering the clever coffee dripper (or a similar method). Seems like the best of both worlds, although some don't like plastic coffeemakers or paper filters.

Ikea sells quite possibly the best french press for about $10 or so.

Damn, burr grinders are pricey. Is it easy to purchase pre-coarse ground coffee?

I really don't know **** about coffee.

If you're talking a supermarket, sure - if they have their own grinder. You'd buy the beans whole and then grind away.

If you're talking a coffee-shop, they'll probably do it for you.

I have that press to make coffee at work, Conne. The coffee's great, but I sadly can't get hot enough water from the dispensers to make it a quick and easy affair -- I have to microwave preheat.

Why do you need that fancy smancy grinder? This does the same thing, at 1/5 the cost. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg.../-/B00004SPEU/ And yes, definitely get a french press. The natural coffee oil gives your cup of joe an added dimension that you can't get from an electronic coffee maker, and you can control the temperature more precisely. This Bodum 12oz press is only $19: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg.../-/B000YYQCOU/ I use this Aroma electric kettle to boil water. It can bring to a boil 750mL of water in just a few short minutes. http://www.amazon.com/Aroma-AWK-115S...dp/B000KDVTJI/ (p.s. I have a Starbucks-branded French press that I bought some years ago; it's perfectly adequate for the job
