im looking for basic blue and white oxford shirts to wear casually. with regards to BoO, hickey, and steven alan, how do the black fleece oxfords stack up? they are at a reasonable price point at $112 with the current sale. I'm concerned with fit and quality with regards to those other brands, thanks.

I think at $112 they are a pretty good buy, certainly the quality should be comparable to the brands you mentioned. I'm not sure if they're really short enough to be worn untucked, though, if that's your intention.

I have one and its not that slim (slimmer than regular Brooks clothing though), has a 3/4 length placket, and is not short enough to wear untucked.

Not as slim as Thom Browne and not short enough to wear untucked; but, great shirts.

I think tomorrow I'm opening a box of 3 white ones with my initials monogramed on the cuff.

I think they're a pretty good deal, but I'd rather get Hickey ones if you can find a decent deal on them. I was buying them for less than $60 from scoop and from their store. They're really really well made and may be short enough to be worn untucked (if not BoO length) and IMO they're slimmer and better quality than BF, which is not to say that BF isn't a good deal for $110 because it is, from the choices you mentioned.

As far as me, I'd personally just buy Zara shirts.

drizzt: I only own one hickey shirt, and to date, it is my favorite shirt. Right now I'm just waiting on some of there stuff to go on sale, because I'm not really intrigued by anything right now. I suppose I will just wait then; black fleece oxfords don't appear to be quite as casual as I had first thought.

Absolutely. I tried it on with jeans and thought the fit was great. Will probably buy two during this sale. Far too long to wear untucked. They are really long, but I didn't feel like it bunched too much when I tucked it in. Though I like tucking in my shirts...

If to you casual means untucked then no they cannot be worn casually. But, really they are oxfords...so they are pretty casual by nature.

ahh, but don't you see!! I've got my mind set on shortening them

. Is this really not that feasible with these shirts for some reason? Also, I am a true 38... should I size down for them to be slim, or should i be fine with the "BB1". (according to the site BB0=36 and BB1=38). Thanks for your help guys.
