Bespoke Suit Recommendation

I recently retired and no longer work in a corporate setting. So, I sold all my suits. I want to commission a new suit and first thought, a nice navy suit... a good versatile option.

But, I already have a bespoke blazer which I kept. So I'm wondering if a navy glen check might be a better option. I would be using it for fine dining, events, etc and thought it would be a more interesting option. Thoughts?

Where I live in the San Francisco Bay Area a navy glen check would
work for anything, except maybe, a black tie occasion.

Thanks. My tailor is a fan of the fabric. Dark navy.

Question: Glen Check is usually seen as a more casual style than a solid or chalk stripe. Would barrel cuffs be appropriate? Or double cuffs w cufflinks?
