Greetings, This is my first posting to the forum so please excuse me if I have posted to the wrong place...
I am currently gathering all of my design ideas together to get a suit made on my trip next week. I will be spending time both in Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur and Thailand: Krabi. Where are would you recommend as having the better tailors (ones whom do not just cater to tourists as rip-offs...)?
I have been reading a lot of postings about Ah Loke in Kuala Lumpur...
Anyhow onto my design ideas... I want to do a black pinstripe suit, preferably silk/wool mix that has a lime green lining. I want working buttons on the arms, with both the button holes and buttons being stitched on with lime green thread.
I see using this suit for parties, paring the jacket with jeans, etc, so I want to add a fair amount of color and fun ideas to it. I would like to incorporate the lime green stitching into as many places as possible in this jacket without making it look to over-the-top...
I tend to pop my suit jacket collars from time to time so I would like to have lime green fabric under the collar for added color.
For my collar design I want to use a "motor cycle" type design with a tab button on one side and a working button on the opposite... Please see the below photo which I took from another posting for the collar design.
Please provide any suggestions / critiques for my ideas for this suit jacket... Also any recommendations for patterns, fabrics, etc would greatly be appreciated...
Thanks!!
