today my company is bringing in a professional tailor who will be providing bespoke, or MTM, i am not quite sure.

Has anybody heard of Modell Fashions, and more importantly, David Aswani the master tailor?

Thanks

quick update. David Aswani is probably one of the master tailors from Modell Fashions which is located in Hong Kong.

He has flown to the US and is working at a variety of corporate accounts. He is offering suiting, customer shirts, etc.

I didn't ask many questions, but he's only doing one fitting. I don't know anything about MTM or bespoke, but just reading around, that can't possibly be correct. How is it possible some styleforum users require multiple fittings, but this guy can do everything in one go?

I decided to hold off.

Thanks

He was in my area in September and upon recommendation from a friend I got fitted and ordered two suits and shirts. The price was reasonable considering almost all ready to wear/off the rack suits do not fit me (currently 42" chest and 29" waist.)

I got a unexpected package last Monday (November 3) and the suits and shirts were in the package. The finish looks good according to my standards. The fitting was just decent. I say decent only because the pants needed to be adjusted by my tailor (the hemming.) The pants came a little short. The jacket, shirt, and waist of the pants fit well. So $14 per pair of pants to adjust the hem (let loose 1 inch in the rear and 1/2 inch up front.)

Overall I am satisfied by the fit/finish, quality of the material (doesn't feel like men's wearhouse type cloth but its definately a little stiffer than my Pal Zileri suit (but I can't complain, the one Pal Zileri suit would have cost 3-4 of these suits.))

A little off topic but, What areas of the suit does one photograph to show if the workmanship is up to par or not?

Anytime someone is described by himself or his firm as a "master tailor," my bullshit alarm rings loudly. As opposed to an "apprentice tailor" or "journeyman tailor," perhaps?

Anybody else have that reaction to "master tailors"?

I pulled David's business card out of my book and didn't see a master tailor title anywhere on it.

Despite all these title's, I don't care. Do the job right and you will get repeat business.
