I think button-down collars look good on most casual shirts, regardless of fabric.

Been tempted by a madras pattern on a poplin cloth.

All of my current BD's are OC, but I have no issue with other fabrics.

I don't wear BDs, but if I did, I would stick with Oxfords. Can't imagine that many of the lighter cloths have the necessary heft to allow a proper roll of the collar.

Most of my BD are OC, but I have several which are pinpoint or broadcloth and look good.

One of my favorite BDs is poplin. At least I think that's what it is. Very light weight, smaller weave than oxford.

I have lots. Finer cloth than your typical OCBD, but still oxford.
