Depends how the bottom is finished - Strand Arcade a few stores down from us is a leather worker called "Elie" he is your best bet.

Looks like a standard plain weave to me, I can see why the above said birdseye but I think its the perspective.

Luke, I don't wish to be mean, but that isn't a good pic to be able to tell. I agree with both Andrew Rogers and Romp . Could be either or even something else. If I was betting I'd say probably plain.

Oops. Sorry Luke. The pic isn't all that bad. Could be a bit sharper though. I enlarged it. I'd say definetly not birdseye or nailnhead etc. Looks to have a bit of texture interest though. Be easier to tell scale in person. For a small fee I do travel for appraisals.
