1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I just got a pair of the selvedge jeans and a flannie off them last week. Was really impressed even when my brother said it's still heaps more expensive than in Japan but still. The rise on the jeans was a smidge low for me but I may use them as a template to have luxire make some. Even the sleeves on the flannie are long enough for me.

Going from the Australian Uniqlo website, at least, there's much, much, much less variety than there is in Japan.

However, Uniqlo only has one proper store here at present and one pop-up store in Sydney, so it's to be expected that they won't have a great range at first. I expect that, as they expand their presence, they'll expand the available range, too.

It's the same with Brooks Brothers - their current range is extremely limited compared to what I've seen, even in Japan and I expect that they have much, much more available in their large US stores. As they roll out more stores, I'd expect to see a larger variety of clothing available.

It's frustrating, I really wouldn't mind cheaper basics.

It will be interesting to see how the retail market changes when some of these conglomerates get running, and how far they go.

    Spot on JM.

It's real toe in the water stuff, which makes perfect sense from their perspective.

BB in Melbourne will be open not far from Uniqlo in the Emporium complex.

My look today will both please and disappoint my old friend fxh. In his plus category I am wearing, his favourite, white jeans, in his negative category I cycled to work in them on a bicycle with no mud guards etc (the weather in Melbourne is nice - very nice for winter).

Today's look is inspired by my old friend Michael Bastian. White jeans, casual blue shirt, sneakers.*

I drove to work today. Killed three cyclists.

Only two more and I get to play the bonus 'pelaton' level.

They weren't white after I was done with them.

On a serious note, I was beeped the other day for not running over a cyclist!
